BTS member Jimin achieved a significant milestone in his military career. Jimin was recognized as the best trainee of his unit by the division chief at idol’s military training graduation ceremony at the end of his five-week apprenticeship.
On January 18th, the idol’s five-week basic training concluded, and he was awarded the Honour of Exemplary with acclamation from the Chief of Division.

The best trainee, or the Honour of Exemplary, is a prestigious distinction awarded to those trainees who score the highest overall marks from all evaluation parameters during their training period. Jimin’s recognition as the best trainee is a testament to his hard work and determination.

Jimin’s father, Park Hyun So, is the epitome of a proud parent as he took to social media to share his son’s success and offered a glimpse into the idol’s military career. Via the fancafe’s official social media platform, Hyun So shared photos of Jimin donning his military uniform as he stood beside his family at the ceremony.

Jimin shares a heartfelt handwritten letter to his fans
Jimin has a heartfelt and intimate connection with fans and frequently shares photos and letters to interact with them. The day before his military trainee program concluded, the idol posted a handwritten note on the WeVerse website to update fans on his military career and assure them of his well-being.
In the letter, Jimin openly talked about his love for his beloved ARMY, and also expressed the comfort and camaraderie ship he experienced with having Jungkook beside him.
Jimin’s military career
All able-bodied men in South Korea are mandated to enlist in the military, which includes a five-week basic training and then 18-21 months of service in the assigned unit. Due to their significant contribution to cultural promotion, BTS was allowed to postpone their military service until 30.
In December 2023, Jimin, along with fellow bandmate Jungkook, became the last members of the band to begin their military service. Their traineeship commenced on December 21, 2023 and ended on January 18, 2024.
Both the idols have been assigned to the 5th Division of the Republic of Korea Armed Forces, where they will serve for 18 months. Jimin and Jungkook’s service will come to an end in June 2024.
